Who can apply?

Technology Readiness Level (TRL)
Applicants must have developed their technology to at least TRL 2 (Technology Readiness Level 2), with work having commenced on TRL 3 (proof of concept in an experimental environment). This ensures that the proposed innovation is beyond the conceptual stage and has demonstrated initial feasibility.

Timeline

March 10: Applications open for the Spinoff of the Year competition.
June 10: Applications close for the Spinoff of the Year competition.
June 10–18: Jury meeting and selection of winners for the Spinoff of the Year competition.
June 19: Official announcement of winners during the Spinoff Europa Conference 2025.
June 19: Spinoff Europa Conference 2025 begins.
June 20: Spinoff Europa Conference 2025 concludes.
