Axithra

Axithra is developing a diagnostic platform based on proprietary optical and photonics technology to quickly and accurately measure drug concentrations in blood at the point of care. This enables Therapeutic Drug Monitoring (TDM) to personalize treatments, ensuring optimal drug effectiveness and avoiding adverse reactions. The company's first application targets the personalization of beta-lactam antibiotic treatments for patients in the intensive care unit (ICU), addressing a critical need for optimizing dosing in critically ill patients. Axithra spun out of Ghent University and imec in early 2023.
