Caplyzer

Over 90% of all hydrogen used in heavy industries such as petroleum, steel is produced using fossil fuels leading to over 920 MT in CO2 emissions annually, equivalent to the aviation industry. Demand for green hydrogen is growing rapidly however electrolyzer technology used for producing green hydrogen today is not ideal due to its high cost, risk for gas mixing and limited capability to handle power fluctuations which often is the case when using renewable energy sources to power the electrolyzer. Caplyzer was found as result of research at KTH by Professor Joydeep Dutta and his PhD student who have managed to address these key challenges of today's technology and developed the world's first supercapacitive electrolyzer that operates like a battery. Our patented membrane-free electrolyzer technology is not only safer, cheaper and scalable but also more sustainable as it uses no rare earth metals. Our mission is to accelerate the transition to green hydrogen and as a result, the global net-zero scenario.
