X1 Wind is a disruptive floating wind technology developer. Based in Barcelona, Spain, the firm’s mission is to provide highly scalable solutions that deliver clean, affordable energy while reducing carbon emissions across the globe. The company’s unique floating wind concept was initially developed by its founder, Carlos Casanovas, while studying at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). The technology was then validated offshore through the design, assembly, installation, and testing of the X30, a part-scale demonstrator installed in the Canary Islands, which marked the world’s first fully functional TLP floating wind platform to export power.
