Current petroleum-based superabsorbents are tied to fluctuating oil prices and generate 40 million tons of non-biodegradable landfill waste annually. Solution: At POLYMERA, we develop biodegradable superabsorbents from a natural polymer produced by Antarctic bacteria. With absorption performance comparable to petrochemical superabsorbents and a scalable production process, our biopolymer offers a sustainable and cost-effective alternative.
