Runners Home Exchange (RunnersHEx) is the first Spanish platform connecting runners who travel for races with local runners offering free accommodation, promoting authentic and sustainable sports tourism. With the motto “Connect, Travel, Run,” our community operates through a points-based system: members host and earn points, redeemable for future stays when traveling to other races. Awarded by CEEI Valencia and INCIBE for innovation, RunnersHEx solves a real problem: the high cost of accommodation prevents many runners from competing away from home. The platform creates a trust-based, zero-cost lodging network that democratizes access to races, reduces travel expenses, and strengthens human connections among athletes. As the first global home-exchange platform for runners, RunnersHEx combines running, tourism, and the sharing economy in a unique model that fosters loyalty and growth.
