Swedish Algae Factory

Swedish Algae Factory cultivates a type of microalgae that is called diatoms in a circular way and extracts their nanoporous silica shells. This material has unique light manipulating, absorbing, releasing and blocking properties. We are branding the material under the name Algica®. Algica® is today sold to global actors in the personal care industry but are also tested together with commercial actors for e.g. encapsulation and controlled release in wound care and capacity improvements of batteries with good initial results. We are now raising up to 6 MEUR to be able to reach profitability.
