•Key responsibilities
We are looking for an experienced Tech Lead or Engineering Manager to take the lead of our development team. We currently have 2 developers and are looking to grow our tech team in the next months in order to increase our velocity and stability.
At Sesamers, our mission is to bring resources, opportunities and support to European startups. We want to 10x the tech sector in Europe and make it a global leader. To do this, we are tackling a very hard challenge and building an operating platform for the ecosystem. We will address many types of users, each contributing to the success of European tech in their own way. If the two-sided marketplace is a hard thing to build, imagine this.
We want to be the most comprehensive data platform about startups in Europe and leverage that data using the latest technologies in order to power connections, opportunities and fundraising.
The main purpose of the tech team is to build and maintain our platform app.sesamers.com in order to bring that vision to life and support the growth of our company.
We also need to maintain and grow our media sesamers.com.
Designing, overseeing and building our product
- Be a key contributor to our product design and development, including the implementation of AI-enabled features such as data completion & recommendation system
- Be a leading force in the implementation of an atomic design system (e.g. Storybook)
- Contribute to the data strategy, data pipeline development and AI integration
- Produce high quality code and software architecture, including the introduction of automated unit testing and end-to-end testing
- Analyze requirements and evaluate trade-offs in scope, cost, and schedule with the PM
- Review code contribution from other team members and help improve the overall quality of code
- Ensure the platform scalability and performance
- Define and implement metrics to monitor development
- Strengthen automation, data engineering and AI integration
- Identify and mitigate software weaknesses to ensure data security
Lead and mentor other software developers
- Oversee technical progress of individuals and projects
- Propose best practices in development and management
Product development
- Explore new product opportunities and features (AI, automation…) with the product and business team.
- Run project monitoring, analytics and reports.
Join a team of developers to build a front end app, backend infrastructure (including data automation and processing jobs) and create automated workflows to process large data from heterogeneous sources.
Current stack: React / Next.js, MongoDB, Typescript
The stack we envision: we want to move away from Next.js / Vercel, add a new front-end framework and Elastic

Preferred experiences
•What we are looking for
- 2+ years of proven experience as a Tech Lead or Engineering Manager
- Experience and strong understanding of code and architecture concepts
- Working experience with Next.js, Node.js and TypeScript
- Experience working with cloud providers
- Result-oriented contributor with a "can do" attitude - take a task from concept to full implementation
- Business acumen to prioritize actions based on their added value
- Strong analytical skills and data-driven thinking
- Team player with collaboration and communication skills.
- Willingness to learn, self-improve and guide less experienced developers.
- Excellent communication skills, verbal and written (English).
Nice to have
- Experience in the startup, VC, innovation or event world
- Interest in Machine Learning
- French-speaker
