Technical Intern
Job description
•What You'll Do
Depending on your background and interests, you may contribute with a dedicated project in areas such as:
• Materials Development: Characterise recovered fibers and test their integration into new composite materials (mechanical, thermal, morphological analysis).
• Process Chemistry: Support development of chemical processing for resin removal or polymer recycling. This may involve lab-scale reactions, purification, and material separation.
• Composites Engineering: Help develop processing methods for integrating reclaimed fibers into thermoplastics or thermosets (e.g., prepregging, compression moulding, infusion).
• Pilot Trials & Scale-Up: Assist in preparing and running scale-up tests, including process design, sampling, and analysis.
• Digital, Data & Reporting: Analyse lab data, model, prepare internal reports, and support technical communication with partners.
Preferred experiences
•The right candidate will be:
• Currently pursuing a Master’s or PhD in Materials Science, Polymer Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical/Composites Engineering, or a related field
• Strong lab skills and familiarity with relevant analytical techniques (e.g., TGA, SEM, tensile testing, rheology, etc.)
• Curious and creative with a special interest in sustainability and circular materials
• Independent and proactive, able to take ownership of a small project within a collaborative environment
• Fluent in English
