There is an increase prevalence of asymptomatic or intermittent heart diseases, like atrial fibrillation (17M people in Europe), Ischemic Stroke (0.9M in Europe) or Syncope (will affect 1/3 of people during their lifetime). Their detection requires continuous and long-term ECG monitoring. Implantable cardiac monitors are the “gold standard” to detect asymptomatic cardiac diseases. But they are invasive, selective & have a limited sequence recording time-frame. Alternatives (with patches or sensors) are uncomfortable, manual, or intermittent. Therefore, current solutions do not allow for non-invasive, continuous, and long-term monitoring, without disrupting patients' activities of daily living. DTECTIO provides long-term, non-invasive and context-aware continuous ECG recordings with vital signs, for patients with asymptomatic or intermittent heart diseases, without disrupting their activities of daily living.
