Miraqules

Miraqules is a biomedical startup from NIT Rourkela developing novel biopolymers for wound management applications. Our team has a combined research and business experience of more than 70 years. During my masters’ at NIT under Dr Verma, I invented a scalable method to create nano-structured biopolymers—previously possible only using expensive electrospinning techniques and chemical crosslinkers —making them safer and more accessible. Our lead biopolymer, StopBleed, is the world’s first hemostat that mimics fibrin structures, resulting in 5X more clotting efficiency than current alternatives. Upon contact, StopBleed forms a hydrogel seal on the wound that acts as a mechanical barrier to prevent bleeding. Our mission is deeply personal as we’ve lived the problem we’re solving. With these biopolymers, we aim to support people in desperate emergency bleeding situations where the risk is real & the sacrifice could be ultimate.
