Digital Riders is looking for a highly skilled Senior Backend Engineer to join our talented engineering team in Lisbon. You will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining the server-side logic, databases, and APIs that power our web and mobile applications. As a senior member, you will also mentor junior engineers and contribute to architectural decisions.

What you'll do:

- Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain and improve backend services and APIs.

- Write clean, efficient, maintainable, and well-documented code.

- Collaborate with frontend developers, product managers, and designers to deliver high-quality features.

- Optimize applications for maximum speed, scalability, and reliability.

- Troubleshoot and debug complex issues.

- Participate in code reviews and contribute to improving code quality.

- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team knowledge sharing.

- Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and best practices.

What you bring:

- Proven experience as a Backend Engineer, with significant experience in a senior role.

- Strong proficiency in one or more backend programming languages (e.g., Node.js, Python, Java, Go, Ruby).

- Experience with database technologies (SQL and NoSQL, e.g., PostgreSQL, MongoDB).

- Experience designing and building RESTful APIs.

- Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).

- Understanding of software architecture patterns and principles.

- Experience with testing frameworks and practices.

- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

- BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
